I teach pharmacokinetics and cancer pharmacology to professional and grad students, and up to this point have not found anything in MERLOT that I can really use, although doing a search today for "cancer" turned up some things might be useful. One issue that is perplexing me is whether I should encourage colleagues to submit materials to MERLOT vs. MedEd Portal, because the latter has (I think) significantly greater presence in the world of medical education.
Jonathan, Thanks for the feedback! The resources currently in MERLOT were contributed by faculty and students. The resouces for pharmacokinetics and cancer pharmacology are still limited in MERLOT. Please contribute some web sites that you have found useful in teaching your courses. One other way that faculty have been able to "grow" their discipline areas is to create assignments for students to contribute web sites that they found to be instructional. If you are interested in assisting with the peer review process for resources that you use in teaching and learning just let me know.
Jonathan, I am involved in putting together a global consortium called OERC (Open education Resources for Cancer). We are collaborating with Merlot so soon you will OERC on Merlot. I hope you will join the community.
I am an Accountant, a Teacher, a Counselor and a Writer. But my major interest is in counseling and writing on different issues of life. My materials mostly talks about how to fight: STRESS, MARITAL CONFLICTS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY etc. So thats what I have contributed. I have learned somany things regarding psychology, sociology etc. more in MERLOT. It enhances my knowledge.
