Hello Everyone,

I am Florette Williams. I consider myself an educator with a passion for improving teaching through the use of technology. I am Instructional Design Specialist with primary responsibility for providing specialist technical assistance in instructional design and development for open, flexible, distance and online learning applications.

I have a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology; a Master of Arts degree in Leadership, Management and Administration; a Bachelor in Education degree; a Diploma in Teaching and a Certificate in Computer Studies.

I have over twenty years of teaching experience at the secondary level; have facilitated training in Technology Integration to teachers and school officials offered through E-Learning Company of Jamaica and Mico University College; worked as adjunct lecturer in Instructional Technology at three universities; and worked as Instructional Designer at University of the West Indies Open Campus.

I find that in designing and developing courses I have had to rely on Merlot a great deal. I hope then that I will be able to contribute meaningfully here in doing the peer reviews. I am grateful for this initiative of Merlot so that we have access to such excellent resources for use in education and especially online learning.
