Quite right that scope of QM and MERLOT reviews are different. QM is also a collaborative process, with the course designer literally in conversation with the review team.
While I'm QM certified, I haven't done all that many QM reviews - still working on my "master reviewer" status. But I *have* put my eyes on a LOT of courseware. I spent five years creating custom CBT for businesses, and another five years at PLATO as a QA reviewer, project manager, and senior designer. Since entering the higher-ed field in 1999, I've worked with hundreds of faculty members to design and tweak their course materials.
I'm excited to finally get to be involved with MERLOT.
As they say in New Orleans, "True dat!"
LOL, You got the lingo.

Corrie,
MERLOT has a basic search web service to search our repository for materials. You can find all the information and a link to request a key (required) at http://taste.merlot.org/merlottechnology.html#webservices. I see you are a Blackboard system admin. MERLOT has a building block that you can download which will also do what you want - search the MERLOT repository. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, contact me directly at webmaster@merlot.org
Corrie,
We are almost neighbors, within 60 miles is pretty close when you live in the Black Swamp. :)
Hi all,
I am getting a late start, but can't wait to catch up. I am an Instructional Design Consultant at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, where we provide faculty development in teaching and learning for all modes of delivery--pedagogy, elearning, educational theory, academic technologies, online/blended learning, etc. I was involved with Merlot several years ago when I was part of the SUNY Learning Network. I have an MS from University at Albany in Curriculum Development and Intruction, and am completing the final course in a series of Internet/Web 2.0 for K-12 trends, issues, and best practices for teaching and learning at University at Buffalo. Looking forward to getting caught up...

Hello All,

I teach theory and practice, My students do their clinical experience in the Trauma Intensive Care unit at LSU Interim Public Hospital (AKA Charity Hospital of New Orleans). I enjoy my job and wish to grow. Which is why I am going through the Merlot experience. I have been looking at MERLOT since 2008, but was totally unaware of the wealth here. I am loving this experience. Thank you for the opportunity.
