Putting Educational Innovations into Practice.

Please introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself.  We have a number of people who are doing GRAPE Camp asynchronously and you can communicate with them this way.  You can also ask questions here.

Yay, Kristen, we're glad to see you back.  I know that sometimes it seems like a big work load when you are also involved in your real life activities.  A returnee is always welcome.

Hi all, my name is Karen Nielsen and I am a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan. I currently teach supervised laboratory sections of an introductory statistics course. We have ~1400 students per semester in this course, which works out to about 50 laboratory sections taught by around 30 different people, so finding effective learning objects that can be shared in all of these sections is absolutely priceless!

It's finals time here, but I hope to keep up with everything asynchronously and put this information to good use over the summer terms.

Karen, welcome.  We've had a lot of the grad instructors at U of Michigan attend GRAPE Camp.  I think this is a wonderful opportunity for you to become involved in  peer review, as once you are in your new appointments, you will be accustomed to it.  Also, I've found the grad students always make such wonderful contributions.

Thank you for joining us, even if it is asynchronously.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello every body,

I am a curricula specialist and teacher trainer in the ministry of education , Egypt. I enjoyed a GRAPE Camp a lot. It is very interesting to be one of these wonderful people with diffrent backgrounds.

We're happy to have you with us, Samira.  All the way from Egypt.  Please let me know if you have questions.  Having you in GRAPE Camp shows that MERLOT is truly an international organization!

My name is George Holbrook and I am attending asynchronously. I am an assistant professor at Ashford University. I have always used and enjoyed Merlot resources!

Hi, George:

I'm glad you introduced yourself.  Sometimes you feel like the loner out there when you are doing it asynchronously...I think you can empathize with how students feel sometimes.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
