Yes, anyone can do that, just as anyone can submit someone else's materials. I'll use an example from Physics. MIT Physics was broken into smaller parts by someone on the Physics Editorial Board: http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=234538
This Faraday one ended up being a Classics Award Winner.

Here is an example from Biology: Connecting Concepts was submitted as a major meta site, but was broken into pieces: http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=83572
That way it is easier to find and then much easier to peer review.

You can always suggest to the Editor that the site be broken down into smaller segments. But, be careful, as you may be asked to do it.

Let's talk on this topic tomorrow.

If a propject is becoming outmoded, how can we recommend or influence changes?

Just in case you are not aware yet, the ASA started an online collection of learning objects called TRAILS (see http://trails.asanet.org/Pages/default.aspx) a few months ago. It is only open to subscribers--if ASA member = $25, if nonmember = $100 per year.

It would be great if our collection on Sociology were large as well as peer reviewed, and also free. So, let's keep building the Sociology collection.

Hi Cathy,

I was trying to get through Grape Camp. I'm having trouble opening the links/files under the Business Peer Review Part 1 and 2; 3 and 4.

Hi. I'm Lynn Ritchey. I have been at the University of Cincinnati, Raymond Walters College (RWC) since 1996. I received my BA (Sociology/Psychology) and MA (Sociology) from the University of Toledo and my PhD from the University of Cincinnati (Sociology). I have several publications including two peer reviewed resource guides for the American Sociological Association (Teaching Introduction to Sociology a a Hybrid Course: A Resource Guide and Scaffolding for Student Success in Learning: Effective Practices in Using Instructional Strategies). I have consulted with publishers on various aspects of integrating active learning components into the traditional and online classroom. I am currently working with merlot.org on the Sociology Review Board and will be portal editor for Sociology. I maintain two websites: SocioQuest (http://sites.google.com/site/socioquesthighered/home) a repository of internet based sociological assignments and Insider Guide to the Professor's Mind (http://insidetheprofessorsmind.blogspot.com/) a blog designed to assist students in having more successful interactions with their Professors. I am a member of the University of Cincinnati's Academy of Fellows for Teaching and Learning, an honorary and service organization.

Hi, Michael, only one more reason to build up a FREE alternative to what ASA sells! :)
