Have you used a learning material from MERLOT in your teaching?
No
Describe your role in education
I am an instructor for the San Francisco Math Circle, a math enrichment and outreach program for middle and high school students in San Francisco. I also am also an aspiring high school math teacher with plans to attend a credential program next year so that I can teach in the San Francsico Bay Area.
Got your head back in the books, too? Wow..what an experience. I am still gushing to people about how great the Spaceward Bound program was. I want to go next year and the next if it is still in existance. Hey, did you know that Mike Wing has a ph.D? His website is an amazing resource for high school teachers to help their students. One thing caught my eye: Yes...you, too, can go to Harvard with only average grades. Yep, that's right! Check out his website: http://drake.marin.k12.ca.us/staff/wing/index.htm I'm so impressed and inspired!
Blake, one of our cohorts from Spacewrd Bound, is going to be up in SF later this month checking out grad programs for Neuroscience. He's looking at SFSU and UCSF as possible choices. My boyfriend works for SFSU, and of course I'm a 5+ year student here, so I'm going to show him our campus. I had thought we may go out to dinner afterwards, keeping it "Cheap-N-Cheerful". If you and your boyfriend have an interest, let me know. (510) 395-4489. I've notified a few of the other SFSU Mojave cohorts. I would enjoy keeping in touch with all of you. It was our combine energy that made it magical. I don't know all of the SFSU Spaceward Bound people, but if you are interested, and you think they may be interested, please contact me concerning meeting up Sunday or Monday, April 19th or 20th, with Blake and me, give a shout.
You really are a lousy liar and it was very funny listening to you talk about this at 1:30 am. Glad I stayed and played Mafia. I don't think I was very good at it. It rather threw me off. That may have been the point.
So much fun sharing this trip with you.
Bye,
Genovefa
