Hi Tina! Thank you! I may have done a little too much relaxing this summer, but I spent some quality time with my daughter that will only come once at this age! I'm excited to start next week. I am actually sitting in my classroom now, breaking in my school laptop!
What were your most valuable lab tools that you used last year in physics? I'm putting together a list of things I would like ordered for the kids this semester (and next).

That is a perfect start. I am inheriting quite the mess of a storage room, so finding things is going to take some time. I came across many spring scales, but have yet to find meter sticks. I only came across one stop watch. Thank you so much for offering your help with low tech solutions!

Thanks for the update, and I'm glad I could make a difference. Modeling really is a shift in thinking about how to teach, and sometimes I find myself falling back to the traditional way of teaching, so I always have to watch myself.

Let me know if you have any further questions. For the first Saturday meeting one of the tentative topics we are planning is Socratic dialog, which is outside most people's comfort zone.

I am trying to schedule a day where I can arrange for a substitute for my classes so I can observe another teacher. Would you be willing to let me and possibly my cooperating teacher come and observe your classroom? I am thinking about late September.
