I hope you had a great holiday weekend. I have a question about UC/CSU lab science credits. I proposed the idea of offering a 9th grade physics to my science department chair and she said that the admin won't go for it because UC/CSU label all 9th-grade physics classes statewide as science elective credit (because the math is "dumbed down"). Can you tell me what kind of credit your 9th graders in physics get? If it is lab science credit, how did you get that designation? My dept chair seems pretty convinced that it's impossible to do.

Hi Brenda! The semester is not quite over for us yet. We're still one of those weird schools that has finals at the end of January. I just finished up Unit 4, but I'm back to very low test scores. No matter what I do, I just can't find a way to get nomenclature across to them. It appears to be less confusing to them this year because they don't have to first count valence electrons, but they still screw it all up if I mix ionic and molecular formulas or names in the same lists.

Hey Brenda-- we miss you. Thank you for everything you've taught us. I got your email about the grant but can't find the link. Can you please guide me in the right direction? Thanks, Noha.
