Hey Miguel, It was a great summer institute especially since we all got a chance to get to know each other. I hope to see you at Noyce events in the future, until then, enjoy your summer!
Hey Miguel, check out Ashken's page. She has all of the ice breaker activities that we did during the institute posted on her website. I also have an Ice Breaker page on my website that contains some of the ones we did during the institute and others that I found online. My favorite is a tie between the Date of Birth activity and the one where we had to stand by the picture that summarized our year so far.
Wow, I didn't hear about the FIT program at all, thanks for letting me know, Miguel. I would be very interested in participating, maybe next year since all of the sessions for 2010 have passed already. Sounds like a lot of fun and to get units for it is a bonus (yep, I went to UC Davis). What activities did you do at the institute? How did you learn about the program?
Hey Miguel, I hope your fall semester is going well. What classes are you teaching this year? I'm doing my initial student teaching in 8th grade phys. sci. My students are having trouble with metric conversions, but are very motivated to learn. I just wish I can stay the entire day to help them, but I have my credential classes to attend. I bet you have been there and know what I mean. Anyway, if you have any suggestions i'm all ears. Let me know how u are doing.
