Activty #1: Describe the Top 2 lessons about DISCOVERY and SELECTING OER in MERLOT

Workshop participants will share their lessons learned about searching for OER in MERLOT. Consider whether the MERLOT tool and resources would be readily adopted by colleagues at your institution. Would they be eager to use MERLOT? Would their be barriers?

The search and discovery of OER was cited as one of the major barrier in using repositories such as MERLOT and NSDL. Anything that will help faculty in doing that would be helpful. Although the MERLOT web site is very usable, one should think about developing videos tutorials that explain its use. Also, I will be interested in pursuing the development of a course that does just that. I have started one called "MERLOT Jewels", but never finished it.
